The Dance Institute in Markham was established by Director, Sharon Walsh-Mehaffey in 1993. The dance school started with a modest following and now has established itself as one of the fastest growing and well respected Dance studios in the Markham, Unionville & Richmond Hill area.
The Dance Institute now has a growing student population of approximately 300 students, offering classes in Ballet (Cecchetti), Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Acro, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theatre, Vocal & Acting. We pride ourselves on our strong Recreational Dance classes as well as our award winning Competitive Dance program. The school's main philosophy is to ensure each student receive ample attention and instruction. Each Teacher is professionally qualified and each T.D.I. class boasts a low student to teacher ratio to maintain intimate classes. We are always welcoming new students to the T.D.I. family!
